Mint green dial
A watchmaking technique
Numerous dials in the Oyster Perpetual range have beautiful light reflections thanks to the sunray coating. Expert brushing techniques are used to achieve it, resulting in grooves that radiate outward from the dial’s center. Every etching has light that is uniformly diffused, giving the piece a distinctive, delicate glow that changes with wrist position. Following the completion of the sunray finish, electroplating or physical vapor deposition are used to apply the dial color. The dial is finished with a thin layer of varnish.

Fluted bezel
A Rolex signature
One way to identify yourself is with a Rolex fluted bezel. The Oyster bezel’s fluting originally served a practical purpose, allowing the bezel to be screwed into the watch case and assisting in ensuring the watch’s waterproofness. Thus, it was the same as the fluting on the case back, which was likewise secured to the case with special Rolex tools in order to make it waterproof.
